I will NOT sell rats to people who want to feed them to another animal. Don't bother emailing me about this!
ALSO, Unless you’re an established rattery, your pets are registered with NARR as PET ONLY. This means you are not allowed to breed any rats you adopt from me unless I specify differently.
To adopt from Tumbleweed please click this link, read the entire page, and fill out the form provided.
When you pick up your rats and receive their pedigrees (if you request one) you will also be agreeing the following by simply adopting the rats:
1. If you no longer want your pet rats, they will be returned to ME. Not sold to someone else, fed to some kind of creature, or handed off to another person without letting me know. It costs me me money care for an extra adult rat, so there is a $10 fee for returning the rat to me.
2. That you follow a certain quarantine upon receiving you rats to make sure that everyone is healthy.
3. That I am not responsible for any vet bills after you become the owner of the rat. If you cannot afford the bills, I will take your pet back for a fee ($10) and take care of any medical needs. The rat will then stay with me and be rehomed at a later date with someone who can care for vet bills.
4. If you need advice on what vet to see, you should be comfortable contacting me to find a good vet.
5. You are responsible for feeding, watering, and taking care of your pet rat. Clean cages and proper food are part of adopting the pet rat.
6. When you sign the form you're agreeing to either a breeding or non-breeding contract. I probably won't allow the breeding of the animals unless you're an established breeder or a breeder getting started and mentoring with an established breeder.
7. I might periodically inquire about the rats you adopted.

Rats will go in PAIRS. This is because as siblings they'll already be bonded making being rehomed easier.
Babies are $20 each, $35 for a pair, regardless of ear type and fur type. These adoption fees/traveling fees may be paid in cash or by PayPal.
If you live outside of Reno I reserve the right to require a traveling fee to help pay for gas.
✦Any immediate area around, but outside of Reno: $10
✦Anywhere outside of the Reno/Tahoe area (Sacramento): $25
I will hold rats a little longer for an extra fee (feeding those rats costs money!)
* Also, if you would like a printed pedigree, let me know in advance so I can print it up for you! *

A closed rattery is a rattery that does not allow people inside the animal room, or even the home.
I have a closed rattery. This is not to be rude, but because I am keeping my animals safe and healthy. If you have rats at home, it's very possible to bring a disease from your house to my house without knowing it. And because I own a LOT of rats, having a LOT of rats sick and possibly dying, is not good.
You will be able to come to my home, but are now allowed to enter the rat room.
Diseases are also the reason for proper quarantine when you get your baby rats home if you own other pet rats or have recently gone to a pet store.
