Feival

 (November 2007-December 2008)

Feival was the love of my life. She was my heart. She was so tiny when I first got her and we bonded instantly. She was calm and loving. She gave kisses and wanted nothing more than to be in your hands.
She was best friends with Rattigan and was the silent leader of the cage.
She passed away from pneumonia and pyrometra.
Sprampf

 (February 2009-July 4th, 2009)

Sprampf was the kissiest of my girls. She wanted nothing more than to always be in my hands. She was very attached to me and I to her.
She passed away giving birth to her first litter.

She’s at the bridge playing hard with her little babies that went to the bridge with her.
Julie Lane

 (?-1/26/2010)

I adopted Julie Lane from a rescue in South Lake Tahoe, CA early last summer. She had a large tumor and was apparently found wandering on a road, the story was the someone dumped her there because of the tumor. Julie’s Tumor was operable and removed about 2 hours into coming into my hands. She lived the duration of her life with her friends in the rattery. Julie Lane was put to sleep this afternoon after an emergency vet visit. The vet found several more tumors in her lungs and body.
Julie got to finish life the way every rat deserves to finish.
Toad

 (Spring 2008-Spring 2010)

Toad was my third pet rat. She started out as a girl with too much energy and lots of kisses to give. As she grew older she showed more of her goofy personality. I wish and hope for rats with personalities like Toad’s.
She was put to sleep due to a respiratory abscess on March 17.
AMOR Oscar (Sid)

 (July 16, 2008- June 5, 2010)

Sid began his life at a rattery in California. We are not sure whether or not he was ever bred. His owner passed away, and then I took him in after that.

Sid didn’t have the longest life, much like his siblings. His line was discontinued because of brain tumors, which is what consumed Sid in March of 2010. Sid started showing signs of the Pituitary Tumor and shortly after he lost his mobility. He soon gained back some of his old self, but didn’t last long before he passed away in what looked like his sleep.
Sid was never the nicest rat (could have been a side effect of the tumor) but I loved him as much as all the other rats.
Sid will be sorely missed.
He was a pound and a half in his good times, and a mushy squish as well.

Rattigan, My First Rat

 (September 2007-December 15 2010)

Rattigan was my first rat. She was from PetSmart. I purchased her because I needed someone to keep me company when I lived alone. I never intended on getting a second rat, but she needed a friend. This is the rat that started it all, the one that made me fall head over heels for these animals.
I learned how to take care of rats the hard way, and how to better their lives, thanks to Rattigan.
Through everything, she was always the healthiest, strongest, and kindest. No matter how many new rats she met and lived with, not once did she ever get territorial or hurt another rat.
She was the opposite of all rat standards in every way, but she always warmed my heart.
This rat will truly be missed.
Sam, My First Boy

 (January 29, 2008-December 15, 2010)

Sam was my first boy. I had always wanted a male rat, since they’ve got such a great reputation for being lovable and squishy.
I tried several times to get Sam to live with other males, but he was too aggressive with them. After having Sam neutered, he still didn’t want to have anything to do with other boys.
He then moved in happily with my girls and bonded strongly with Rattigan. Sam was always my cuddle bug. He had an entire harem of females to himself that he gladly cleaned, licked, and loved.

Sam and Rattigan, my most beloved rats, were put to sleep together, humanely, on December 15, 2010.
